Bondi Discloses Probe into President's Adversaries and Jeffrey Epstein Connections
On Friday, Pam Bondi appointed interim US attorney Jay Clayton to head an inquiry into opponents of the President and their relationships with Jeffrey Epstein. This decision came hours after Trump instructed her to begin the investigation.
In a statement, Bondi highlighted Jay Clayton as “one of the most capable and trusted prosecutors in the country”. She added, “The department will handle this matter promptly and thoroughly to provide clarity for citizens.”
This development seems to diverge from a July memo from federal authorities which stated that documents related to Epstein did not warrant further inquiries. As per the document, investigators “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”
The President Calls for Focus on Political Opponents in Epstein Case

Newly public emails from Epstein have brought attention to Trump’s past involvement with the convicted criminal, including details that he knew more about Epstein’s conduct than he has previously let on.
That same day, Trump announced he would direct the DOJ to investigate connections between Epstein and Democratic figures, specifically naming Bill Clinton, Larry Summers and Reid Hoffman. Interestingly, Trump also referred to the “Epstein hoax” as a “scam”.
