Aircraft Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Frequented Southern California Coast
A chopper flying near a crowded California shoreline abruptly began spiraling out of control, ultimately descending rapidly and crashing into a row of palm fronds as onlookers watched.
Recordings shared on the internet depict the helicopter beginning to twirl over the beach then falling near the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged between palms and a steps adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
First Aid Update
The Huntington Beach fire department reported five people were transported to a medical facility involving two who were in the aircraft and were “extracted safely from the crash site” subsequent to the accident on Saturday.
Three persons on the street were harmed. Specifics on their injuries were not immediately available.
What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
